John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched many people by his lyrics. Many of these were inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado and settled down in Aspen. A few beat a path towards Colorado following the Denver's cult songs for his home state. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the curator of this hall of fame said: "I don't believe there anyone else who has as much a connection to Colorado like John Denver." In the year 2011, Denver was chosen as the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. Denver is a symbol of the state for people worldwide. On my trips I've encountered people who are from New Zealand or the other side. If you inform them you're from Colorado, the first words they'll use are"Oh John Denver. Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo singer after a brief stint in small folk bands. Danoff initially wrote the song with Johnny Cash's music in mind, but Denver knew from the first moment he listened to the early versions that the song would be a big success. The song was recorded within a couple of days of having performed on stage in Washington D.C. before an audience that was very enthusiastic.
