Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated the following: John Denver is the only artist to represent Colorado. In 2011 Denver was named the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. Denver is now the embodiment of Colorado for many people across the globe. In my travels, I've met people who are from New Zealand or the other side. When you tell them you're from Colorado the first words they'll say is Oh John Denver. Brown clarified. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief time in folk groups and was his debut Top 10 solo hit.
